Hallow--WHAT?!

So I'm not a big Halloween person ... go ahead, make your judgments ... it's just not my thing. I think the costumes are fun, and the candy is without a doubt a real TREAT (see what I did there?) but the scary stuff is just not . my . thing .

So now that we've established that, let me tell you what DOES peak my interest ... pumpkin carving. But it has now reached a whole other level! Without going into a long shpeeeel (that's a word, right?) I present to you a lookbook of one of our local park's presentation of pumpkin carvings .... The Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular! Over 5,000 pumpkins, carved, etched, and glowing throughout a 1/4 mile of the park... Let's just get to some photos now shall we!?
From your average joe carvings, to the absolute most unique...
We easily found two of our favorites, along with an entire section I didn't want to leave...
..... Yes! Christmas! And there were even snow flakes in the midst of it all. *sigh*

But honestly, the amount of pumpkins around this park was nothing I've ever seen before! Truly incredible.
Although it was a long night and the line was out of this world (it took 2 hours to walk that 1/4 mile), but it was well worth the wait! And thankfully, it was NOT a school night. ;) ...yes, both asleep.

: Weekend Look Book :

Another weekend, another look book! Are these getting old? I hope not. It's about all I can gather these days between school being out and everything in between. Ha! So just bare with me. At least I'm not completely absent, right? Right! So here's a look into our Memorial Day weekend.

First and foremost, we broke ground on building our first home!!!! Fantastic kickoff to the weekend, I must say.
Then the summer activities, watersides and fish fry/cookouts were among us for the next couple days.
Nothing like the smell of grilled goodness with some country music in the background... [sigh] ... Other than my exhaustion, allergies and hoarse voice, I could relive it all again tomorrow! The weekend was good to us. :)

:Weekend Look Book:

After the weekend's festivities, I am two days behind on this post - #sorrynotsorry - but the weather has also been AMAZING so there was no doubt I would rather be outdoors with the kiddos; which we are about to enjoy again today! But let's backtrack for a moment to another incredible Derby weekend, beginning last Thursday evening... [beware, of the photo overload].

Ferdinand's Ball was spent with friends, and even a selfie with the infamous Dhani Jones. Omgee! The highlight of my night for sure.

Friday night was the Unbridled Eve Gala, where we shared a table with Mark Sanchez [Jets quarterback] and Rob Angel [the man who invented Pictionary]. I was on the hunt for Christian Kane, but failed. Afterwards, we headed on over the next event, Fillies & Stallions, where I met Nicole Murphy. Gorgeous! If only she was accompanied by fiancé Michael Strahan, my night would have been complete!!
Lastly, Derby day. We were lucky to be in attendance with some great people and spent the morning/afternoon .... losing our money. Boo. But what an incredibly beautiful day it was!!!
To conclude the amazing weekend, as mentioned, we spent the entire Sunday outside. How could one resist??? The day consisted of painting, sidewalk chalk portraits, and playing on the water slide. Afterwards we grilled out, and roasted marshmallows for dessert. #perfection
Looking forward to this week of WARM WEATHER!!! Finally!!

It's Fun To Be A Kid

With Easter around the corner, we have jumped right into the necessary activities building up to the holiday; dying eggs, and making any and all kinds of goodies that pertain to a bunny, egg, or just candy in general.

And the outcome of our egg decor was a bit of everything. We each had our own egg, including her teachers. But my favorite? Well that would be the one with the band aid. Not only did it come out discolored [poor thing] but she dropped it resulting in a few cracks; hints the band aid. It still makes me laugh every time I see that thing. Gotta love kids.

Christmas Cookie Craze

With Christmas now only two days away, my winter bucket list is coming to a close.
To conclude it will most likely be on Christmas eve and Christmas day; baking Santa's cookies and watching the classic Peanuts Christmas.

The most recent check mark, though, was baking Christmas cookies!! What an event. My mother-in-law and sister-in-law had the whole afternoon/evening planned. I can't wait to share the pictures. Literally. So here they are.

Given the spunkiness of them both, they had festive aprons waiting for us when we got there. Adorable.
Dressed and ready... it was on to the kitchen!
She was practically a pro [cough, cough] placing each cookie cutter in the middle of the dough. But whatev. Decorating them was her specialty if anything.
Then it was on to the final fun project! Reindeer cookies. [No I didn't make or cut them. But I shaped them... good enough].
This was the best time, and what better way to share it than with family. I'm so blessed to have such incredible in-laws who enjoy their time with Audriana [I'm sure they enjoy me as much, too] because it warms my heart witnessing these precious moments.
