Love & New Life

Well, we have just wrapped up quite an eventful weekend! Without going into elaborate details, here are some highlights.

One of my favorite people in the world [also known as my aunt] threw me a beautiful baby shower on Saturday. I was able to capture a couple of my most favorite details, but they don't do it a bit of justice. Scrambling to enjoy every second, I left the photog to my sister-in-law! Thanks, Em!!! ;)

With my family and friends gathered around, Audriana and I felt truly blessed.
 And Sunday, I got baptized.
No words could possibly explain the emotions I endured this entire weekend. I was overwhelmed with love. Thanks to everyone for sharing this weekend with us, and especially for the support and love I received on Sunday.

Simply an amazing weekend.

What's In A Name? ... THANKS, HELENE!!

This has been something I've been battling for a little while now, and as luck would have it - believing things happen for a reason -  I came across this post from Helene In Between. She could not have put my stress at ease any better, and give me that boost I needed to get it done! What is it you ask, that has had me so unraveled? The dreaded... SHOULD I CHANGE MY BLOG NAME OR NOT?!! Yes, it may seem miniscule to most, but at the time being it is something that I've been contemplating, and weighing heavily on my mind for some time now.

I agree with Helene that we begin our blogs with an initial purpose, and all seems to flow steadily for awhile. My recent blog name A Little Bit of This and That suited me just fine, because that is exactly what my blog is about - a little bit of everything; this and that. But I wanted something a little more clever, and more importantly, shorter. So I brainstormed here and there for things that fit into something short and sweet that described ME. And as clever as I like to think I am sometimes and what my initial blog name may have consisted of, I wanted to incorporate part of my own name into the title. Thus generating: Merrily Mee.

You know when things just fit? Well, that's how it felt when I put these two words together. As I mentioned before, "Mee" derives from my Korean name and the word "merrily" simply means happy. And that is my life. No it's not perfect, and that's certainly not what I'm trying to imply. But for the most part, I am content and happily enjoy life; with the good and bad that comes along with it! I would still describe my blog as an "assortment of my life's adventures", just sharing it with a new name! ;)

My sweet little blog has not yet ran a year's course, and while I'm just beginning to accumulate followers I thought it would be a good idea to make the change now - rather than later. I'm hoping to keep things flowing as such, and that the name change doesn't make much of a difference. Here's hoping!

Days like these...

Well, as Murphy's Law states "if anything can go wrong, it will..." therefore in contrast I've mostly survived by, it's better to have and not need it, than need it and not have it. Except however, when things are completely out of your control ---- LIKE THE INTERNET. As soon as I began celebrating the magnificent miracle of our working network, it quits. So here we are again, weeks later... however, that's as much as I'm going to complain about it. Smile and move on! :)

Today is a momentous day!!! I'm currently at my local coffee shop; and while sipping on my usual large decaf mocha frapp, and freely enjoying their wifi, I've come to terms that this is quite a bittersweet rendezvous. The hubs is at work and my daughter is... wait for it... AT PRESCHOOL. Omgosh!! I have to pinch myself every second it crosses my mind. I cannot believe my baby girl is already in preschool.
The first day, however is a very short day and I will be picking her back up in about 20 mins!! So this is, as intended, quite a short post... just wanted to share the news that my baby is no longer a baby and I'm not sure I'm ready for that... it doesn't help that my 20 weeks hormones kick in as every 10 mins.

I couldn't ask for a better send off though. She was more than excited!!!! That definitely makes it easier on mommy... her enthusiasm is obvious. ;)
Happy First Day of Preschool, my sweet girl!! I'm so proud of you.

Heart-to-Heart

Since as far back as I can remember, finding anything (and I mean anything) shaped like a heart, meant snapping a photo and immediately sending it to my mom - and vice versa!! It's something special the two of us share.

To save time, I'll only display the most recent of our finds:
(1) Crouton (2) Cereal (3) Sea Shell (4) A magazine ad full of heart-shaped items. Heaven!!

The symbol not only seems to represent "love", but to me, it also represents a bond; something that should never be broken. When you look at a broken heart on paper, it's literally in pieces - not the way bonds are intended.
By definition, a bond simply means: "...to be joined securely to something else."
A heart, in two, does not abide by such terms; therefore, it shan't be broken.

...but such is life.

Moving on to a happier note - happy blog! - as previously stated, a heart is most certainly known for the symbol of "love". It seems to always bring an immediate cheerful feeling to those who see that little symbol - especially when it's unintentional (our favorite)! Just a little photo of a heart-shaped object can turn my day around in a second!

In closing, here are a few more sweet, heart-shaped moments.
(talk about the perfect match; coffee AND a heart - I'm trying to contain myself)

Good day to you all!!

:: Happy Easter ::

Today, we gather with our families and friends, celebrating a day that should never be forgotten! Everyday I pray for the wisdom and ability to teach my children the word of the Lord.

In our younger years, we look forward to the egg hunts, and dying eggs to decorate (as shown below)! However, I can only hope she grows to learn the history of today - and follow Him in her heart.

"For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."
-2 Corinthians 5:21

Hope everyone has a BLESSED day!!

Motivational Monday

Happy Monday, everyone!! ...or not so happy? If that's the case, you aren't alone.

Let's face it. The only Monday that 90% of Americans celebrate is Cyber Monday after Thanksgiving. Am I wrong?

The point IS - Monday has a steady reputation for being the most depressing day of the week!! Terrible, but true (for some). I, on the other hand, have learned to change my perception on such a renown depressing day.

The idea for this particular blog post, was inspired by my high school volleyball coach - Terri Purichia aka "Coach". On Monday, the entire team and coaches, wore a custom t-shirt with an inspirational quote on the back - the idea was for each player to read the quote on the shirt in front of them, to keep us going . Coach deemed that day as "Motivational Monday". Although, at that age, we are usually too young minded to appreciate such a gesture; yet somehow, it remains with you forever.

With ALL that said, I would like to help, the little I can, with those Monday blues. A preface of this magnitude will not be given for every weekly post. I will (hopefully) help inspire some of you with just a quote and side note. Here's hoping for a better look on Mondays, and a better start to your week!! God bless.
